What is TPIN?

Transaction Personal Identification Number is referred to as TPIN. You can authorise the sale of shares from your Demat account using this six-digit PIN, which is provided by CDSL (Central Depository Services Limited), without having to submit a paper Power of Attorney (POA).

  1. Ready with your “BO ID” and “PAN.”

  3. After opening this link, please enter your “BO ID” and “PAN Number” and also rewrite the captcha.
  4. After that you will get an “OTP” on your registered mobile number.
  5. After entering “OTP”, the verification will get complete.

What is the CDSL TPIN, and how do you use it to sell the stock holdings?

You can authorise the sale of your stocks without submitting a physical power of attorney (POA) by using the 6-digit CDSL TPIN (Transaction Personal Identification Number), which is issued by CDSL.

How to Sell Stocks Using CDSL TPIN:

  • In the app of your broker (MoneySukh), place a sell order.
  • You will be prompted to authorise using a TPIN (e-DIS) if POA or DDPI is not provided.
  • You will be taken to the website of CDSL.
  • Enter the OTP that was sent to your registered email address or mobile number along with your TPIN.
  • The chosen stocks are approved for sale after verification.

What is the validity of the CDSL TPIN authorisation?

Generally speaking, CDSL TPIN authorisation is valid for the following reasons:

  1. The authorization is only good for the day you give your approval.
  2. Once you authorise certain stocks using TPIN + OTP, that authorisation is valid until the end of that trading day.
